A Mi'kmaq Community Centre

MAIN FLOOR PLAN
THE PEOPLE is located in the Millbrook area of Truro, Nova Scotia. The design ensures social sustainability by encouraging the residents to be a part of an open, diverse and active community.
Concept Board
The project includes an inclusive design, centred to uphold the Mi’kmaq culture, tradition and history without limiting its function other native/ non-native people with an intention to get to know the Mi’kmaq heritage. THE PEOPLE is aiming to provide a serene environment that encompasses the true origin of Mi’kmaq identity as a prideful reminder to the nation and other users.

The Neighbour Boutique Hotel is located in 4300 Main Street, Whistler, BC. The design ensures to offer a welcoming space for all visitors—work related or not—by accommodating motivational and efficient work spaces while also offering a relaxing getaway amenities such as bar + lounge, and local eatery. This projects has the intention to provide a one of a kind, sophisticated Whistler accommodation.
Concept Board
It is inspired from the concept of "community" and office architecture. The community aspect is taken directly from the branding name itself while office architecture is inspired from taking action to deviate from the classic and traditional Whistler lodging hotels for a unique accommodation experience.

Veteran Living Community
YEAR 3 | COMMERCIAL DESIGN | GROUP PROJECT
Terrawood is a veteran living community centered around social sustainability that allows the residents to be involved in the community and have a strong sense of belonging and safety. Terrawood facilitates support to help the transition back to civilian life after service with the Canadian Armed Forces. Social sustainability is implemented in the design by the use of natural materials and organic forms to create a supportive environment. Connection to the surrounding landscape is central to the design as natural light and biophilia will be used to create an enhanced quality of life.

CLASSICmedia is a corporate owned multimedia design/advertising company located in Vancouver and is extending their business in Calgary, Alberta. The company intends to achieve a workplace environment with a more boutique feel yet consistent to it young, vibrant, friendly, environmental & socially conscious branding.
Concept Board
The design aims to strengthen the image of CLASSICmedia to the public by restoring the original and rustic feel of the leased spaced in Calgary’s beltline district. With that taken in consideration, the design team proposes to incorporate a touch of vintage feel (1980s) to balance the modern attributes of business industry.

Cristea Residence
Two-Storey House
YEAR 1 | RESIDENTIAL DESIGN
The task in this project is to be able to curate a house based on Elisabeth Cristea's (assigned class peer) personal style and needs.
As interpreted on the concept board below, the design aims to create a light and airy space with a hint of Scandinavian style as well as Midcentury touch. The colour scheme is fairly simple and muted with earth tone accents.
Concept Board
The floor plan layout is open concept, with a straightforward circulation for easier navigation. Wooden flooring and furnishings throughout the house will balance the sleek modern millwork to maintain a warm and elevated feel. Cristea Residence is perfect for young family homeowners who have an eye for a casual yet stylish transitional home design.
